    “那一把尘土是西藏有史来最好的供养。”

    西藏最好的供养

      

        格西班曾经在一山洞内闭关。历代的隐居瑜伽士在此放置一扇粗糙的木门,一座石制的坛城以及一个壁炉,然而,这山洞仍然保持得十分单纯,正适合出家人独自修行。

     

      在长时间与外界完全隔离之后,格西班接到讯息,他的功德主第二天将来到,他们会带些补给品来做供养并将领受他的加持。格西班开始清扫,拂去灰尘,把洞内每样东西都擦拭得发亮,并在坛城上摆设着美丽的供品,准备迎接他的访客。然后他后退很满意地审视他的一切。

     

      “唉呀!”班突然警觉地叫起来,环顾自己所做的事物。“是什么邪恶的力量跑进这虚伪者的领域?”伸手到一黑暗的角落,他抓起一大把尘土洒在干净无瑕的坛城上。

     

      “就让他们看看这山洞和住这儿的隐士原来的面貌吧!”他狂叫道:“宁可不供养,也比只注重外在的供养要好得多。”

     

      在那刹那,格西班领悟到他在那刷洗干净的小屋中精心布置的一切,并非为了供养开悟的佛陀,乃是出于他自己的私心,只是为取悦功德主而做的。

     

      “让他们现在就来参观吧。”他满意地想。

     

      许多年后,当帕当巴桑结——来自当热的佛——从印度入藏,听到这个故事时,他宣称:“那一把尘土是西藏有史来最好的供养。”
